Museums at Night

Museums at Night returns from Wednesday 17th  to Saturday 20th May 2017, inviting all UK museums, galleries and heritage sites to throw open their doors after hours to showcase their treasures in unexpected ways.

Museums at Night is an opportunity for museums and galleries to come together around a single, simple campaign that is attractive to venues, audiences and the media. It’s a social experience, where visitors can get involved, delve deeper into fascinating subjects and perhaps enjoy a cocktail or two with friends.

Chelsea Flower Show & Belgravia in Bloom

The world’s most prestigious flower show that showcases the best in garden design, including the Great Pavilion, a 12,000sq metre marquee featuring more than 100 exhibits from the world’s best nurseries, growers and florists. At the same time, local businesses will participate in Belgravia in Bloom, including window displays and a showcase event at The Lanesborough.

Beating Retreat & Trooping the Colour
14TH JUNE, 15TH JUNE & 17TH JUNE 2017

The Household Division’s Beating Retreat – a spectacular evening pageant of music and military precision drill, including horses, cannon and fireworks. These annual concerts are performed on Horse Guards Parade in front of the beautiful backdrop of St James’s Park each year on the evenings preceding the Queen’s Birthday Parade, or “Trooping The Colour”, taking place on Saturday 17th June.

Waterloo Weekend

Overlooked by The Lanesborough, the iconic Admiralty Arch commemorates the defeat of Napoleon by the Duke of Wellington’s troops at the Battle of Waterloo. This June, re-live the drama and grandeur of the Napoleonic War.  Led by leading historian Dr Kate Vigurs, guests will can come face to face with Wellington's troops in the midst of the campaign and learn how the battle was planned and won.

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships
Monday 3rd July – Sunday 16th July 2017

The Grand Slam Title of Wimbledon comes to the South West of London every summer for two weeks featuring lashings of tennis, strawberries (plus cream) and good-natured queuing, at the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. Wimbledon is one of four annual Grand Slam tennis tournaments held around the world. This tournament has been running from 1877 and games are still played on the original playing surface, grass.

The Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress and is a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing.
